Source: Montgomery Advertiser, Ala.mini storageNov. 07--TROY -- The confidence could ooze from Corey Robinson just when he sees a Louisiana-Lafayette uniform.Robinson, Troy's senior starting quarterback, had a banner day last year when he faced the Ragin' Cajuns, setting school records for both completions and yards. They're numbers he made need to match if the Trojans have a chance tonight when they play at Lafayette."It's a new year, a new team," Robinson said. "We just have to go do it again."There are plenty of positive passing memories that Robinson and the Trojans can draw from when playing the Cajuns.Robinson was 46-of-70 passing for 485 yards, an interception and two touchdowns in last year's 37-24 home loss to Louisiana-Lafayette.Robinson eclipsed Levi Brown for the school record for completions and yards and came within two of Brown's mark of 72 attempts. He broke three career school records, too."I believe we can pass the ball against anybody," senior receiver Eric Thomas said. "We just have to execute and give Corey enough time to throw it. Receivers have just got to get open."Troy has not approached last year's passing success this season. The Trojans, who amassed a school-record 528 yards last year against Louisiana-Lafayette, had three more games with more than 400 yards through the air. This year, th迷你倉y had 504 pass yards in a September loss at Arkansas State and otherwise haven't touched 400."We just have to go out there and play pitch and catch," Robinson said. "Hopefully, it works out and we get upfield and get some yards."Troy will likely have to do it without backup quarterback Deon Anthony, who has seen regular playing time the last two years. He had ankle surgery last weekend and is doubtful, offensive coordinator Kenny Edenfield said.Anthony is more of a running threat than Robinson, though Robinson ran for his third career touchdown last week. He scored on a 3-yard run.Robinson has had one rushing TD in each of the last three years."I know that probably didn't look pretty, but it counted as six points and it got us back in the football game," Robinson said. "That's all you can ask for."This year, Troy already has 23 passing touchdowns, one more than it totaled last year. The Trojans 39 total touchdowns is five off last year's full-season total."Our mindset is just scoring, putting points on the board every time we touch the ball," Thomas said. "Just not turn the ball over and get in the end zone."Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Montgomery Advertiser (Montgomery, Ala.)
