The trial is expected to start in the middle of next month.Verdict on call to reopen bin Laden caseA tribunal in Pakistan will announce its verdict on an application by a doctor accused of helping the CIA track down Osama bin Laden to have his treason case reinvestigated. Officials overturned Shakeel Afridi’s 33-year sentence in August after ruling the previous judge exceeded his authority. He had been charged with treason and tried under the tribal justice system but the Pakistani authorities were accused of torturing him and faking evidence. Afridi allegedly worked with the CIA on a fake vaccination operation to confirm the former al-Qaeda chief’s location in an Abbottobad compound. It resulted in the May 2011 mission by US Navy SEALS in which the al-Qaeda leader was killed.China Mobile deal with Apple expectedChina Mobile, the world’s largest wireless network operator, is poised to announce a long-awaited deal with Apple. It could coincide with China Mobile’s roll-out of its fourth-generation wireless network. The company expects to provide lower tariff rates for 4G services compared with its 3G offering. As of October 31, China Mobile has 759.29 million subscribers. Analysts predict Apple could gain up to 17 million iPhone sales in the first full year if a deal is finalised.
