La Canfora is a former intern for The Baltimore Sun."Just trying to focus on our blessings," La Canfora said in a text message. "This is a terrible thing, and a heinous criminal act, but it easily could have been fatal, or resulted in serious brain trauma."The outpouring of support has been tremendous, and we are blessed with wonderful friends, neighbors and family members eager to help."Police said Lauren La Canfora, 42, was taken to the hospital with a "serious injury" Friday about 10:30 a.m. after a vehicle hit her at the inte自存倉section of York Road and Stevenson Lane.Lauren La Canfora was struck by a "white, four-door foreign vehicle with a temporary Maryland tag," police said. She was jogging northbound on York Road and attempted to use the crosswalk to get to Stevenson Lane, police said.A police spokeswoman said the vehicle sustained hood and bumper damage, and was last seen going east on Stevenson Lane. The suspect stopped briefly but then fled, police said.
